This summer came bearing gifts! The Creative Capsule has been honored with two lovely shout outs from our community.
First, we were included amongst truly awesome local design talent in the 2012 Design Arts Utah exhibition. Picked from scores of designs and projects, and one of only 12 to be showcased in the exhibition, the Creative Capsule was selected to receive an honorable mention from the juror, David McFadden, who is the chief curator and big whig at the Museum of Art & Design in NYC. We put together a very Creative Capsule-esque exhibition panel (no high gloss foam core displays for us-that wouldn’t be our crafty style now would it?) detailing our renovation of the Airstream trailer, it’s cool and functional design, and the fun work we are privileged to do inside it. The exhibition is on view Monday-Friday until July 27th at the Rio Gallery downtown (next to the good old Rio Grande restaurant.) It was a true thrill for us to be included in this exhibition. Please do yourself a favor and grab the kids and go down and check out the wonderful design work being done in our very own state. Cheers to good design!
And secondly, we just found out we’ve been given the very cool title and honor of “BEST MOBILE ART STATION” in Salt Lake Magazine’s Best of the Beehive issue on news stands now!! Wow! We are bouncing off the walls with excitement and hope we get to meet many new chitlins from this lovely press mention.
From the bottom of our hearts we love the unique community of Salt Lake. We are born and bred Utahns and we love being a small part of bringing progressive, fun, creative, and enriching LIFE to this lovely place we call home. Deep down and heartfelt thanks for both of these significant honors. We are filled to the brim with gratitude and are looking forward to bringing more cool family stuff to our community in the future.
